1. Getting Here

How do I get to Ashton Gate Stadium?

Ashton Gate Stadium is located on the South West side of the City of Bristol, less than two miles from the City Centre, and boasts great transport links. Simply visit our Getting Here page for all the information you need for your journey.

What are my parking options?

We have two onsite car parks at Winterstoke Road (BS3 2LF) and Ashton Road Car Park (BS3 2EJ). Please check with the event organiser for additional parking.

Can I charge an electric car?

We don’t currently have onsite charging facilities. The nearest charging point is Long Ashton Park & Ride, The Ashton (BS41 9LX), Southville Services A370.

How do I get to the train station?

The closest station to Ashton Gate is Parson Street, a 15 minute walk from the stadium. Parson Street is accessible from mainline stations including Bristol Temple Meads (40 minute walk to the Stadium), Bristol Parkway and Weston Super Mare. Find out more information on our Getting Here page.


How far away is the airport?

Ashton Gate is only a 15-minute drive away from Bristol International Airport and connected by the Airport Flyer service A1. The nearest stop is Parson Street, just 15 minutes walk. Find out more information on our Getting Here page.

What are the nearest hotels?

How far away is Bristol City Centre?

We are less than two miles from the City Centre.

Where is the nearest petrol station?

Sainsbury’s Winterstoke Road Superstore (BS3 2NS).

Can you recommend a taxi company?

Will I be charged for entering the Clean Air Zone?

Central Bristol, including many roads near Ashton Gate, is now part of a Clean Air Zone (CAZ) where non-compliant vehicles will be charged between £9 and £100 per day to drive. Full details on the CAZ including maps, schedule of charges and a vehicle compliance checker can be found at www.cleanairforbristol.org/caz.

2. General Venue Facilities

Do you provide WIFI access?

We understand the need to stay connected, which is why we provide stadium-wide free visitor Wi-Fi on AG Public – no code required. For secure access for your event, conference or exhibition, please contact events@ashtongate.co.uk for a quote.

Do you have cloakroom facilities?


Yes, cloakroom facilities are available on request.

Do you have a lost property area?

If you’ve lost something at Ashton Gate Stadium, head to the Bristol Sport Store (BS3 2LQ) and we’ll do our best to help. Alternatively, you can call our Club Shop on 0117 9630637 or email us at store@bristol-sport.co.uk.

Do you have phone charging facilities?

Yes. We have a number of charging points in all VIP entrances.

Is there medical assistance at the venue?

All of our Front of House staff are trained in First Aid at work and we have Defibrillators on site located in all of the stadium’s VIP entrances.

Where is the nearest cash point?

The closest cash point to the stadium is at Sainsbury’s, Winterstoke Road, Bristol (BS3 2NS), which is a four-minute drive or nine-minute walk away. We do not have any cash machines at the stadium. Please note we are a cashless venue.

Where is the nearest toilet facility?

Toilets are located next to all meeting rooms and in the concourses.

Where are the smoking areas outside the facility?

Please use the designated areas which are located on Marina Dolman Way, outside the South Concourse and the Dolman Hall. Please use the designated bins.

Is there a shop or newsagent onsite?

The Stadium store is situated at the south end of the stadium, in the south stand, and is accessed by the Winterstoke Road entrance.

Sunday – Tuesday: Closed


Wednesday – Saturday: 10am – 4pm.


On weekday matches the store will close 30 minutes after full-time whistle.


Saturday/Sunday matchdays: Opens 10am to 30 minutes after full-time whistle.


Closed on Bank Holidays (unless a matchday).

3. Venue Build/Breakdown Facilities

Do you provide a stand building facility?

We would recommend www.aimexe.co.uk

Are trollies, pump trucks and porters available?

Where can I obtain bin bags?

Contact your event organiser and they’ll let us know you need bin bags, which the Front of House team will then deliver straight to your stand.

Can I order additional services or stand hospitality?

Yes, contact us at events@ashtongate.co.uk for more information.

Are children permitted in exhibition halls during build/breakdown?

Children are not permitted in the exhibition halls during this time.

What happens if I have a spillage or a breakage?

Please contact the Front of House team on 01179 630649.

Can I store my empty packing cases?

Yes. For more information, contact events@ashtongate.co.uk.

Can I film at an event?

Yes, as long as you have prior agreement from Ashton Gate Stadium.

4. Hotels and Ashton Gate Stadium

Where are the nearest hotels?

Stay in luxury in Bristol when you visit Ashton Gate for a conference, meeting, wedding or event.

Stay with our partners The Bristol Hotel in the centre of Bristol, just an eight-minute drive away from Ashton Gate.

Alternatively, Avon Gorge by Hotel du Vin is a five-minute drive away from the stadium (27 minutes on foot).

What leisure, retail and food & drink places are there onsite?

The Independence Sports Bar features the largest indoor pub screen in the country and is available for pre-match food and drinks. You can also get your coffee fix in our Kofi Lounge, next to the Sports Bar and Bristol Sport Store.

5. Food and Drink

What food and drink options are available at the venue?

Grab loaded fries from our Independence Sports Bar or enjoy locally sourced coffee, homemade cakes and delicious food at Ashton Gate’s Kofi Lounge next to the Bristol Sport Store.

Where’s the best place to get a coffee?

Can I bring my own food and drink?

No but we do have our very own coffee shop onsite called the Kofi Lounge, which serves salads, sandwiches and paninis, as well as hot and cold drinks.

Get your coffee fix in the Kofi Lounge, a friendly coffee lounge serving high-quality ethically sourced coffee, and a range of cakes and bagels, with sustainability at our heart.

Can I bring food and drink for my stand for visitors?

No unless samples and pre-agreed with Ashton Gate.

6. Stadium Security

What are your current security measures?

At Ashton Gate Stadium, we are constantly reviewing our measures to ensure that they remain effective and proportionate. Avon & Somerset Police and Counter Terrorist Security Advisors work in partnership with us at the venue, often deploying a variety of resources to work alongside those of our team. These include a number of overt and covert security measures, so while you may not see all operational security activity, you should be assured that it is on-going, often behind the scenes to prevent crime and keep you safe while you enjoy your visit.

What items are not permitted?

Alcohol is not permitted, as we are a licenced premises.  Also other items which may be classed as a security issue should not be brought into the venue.

What do I do if I see something that doesn’t look right?

Our security teams work hard to keep you safe, please help them by co-operating with their requests. You have an important role to play in helping us by reporting anything that doesn’t feel right, such as any unattended items or someone acting suspiciously. You can report this to any of our security officers or the Police.

Will I be searched when I enter the venue?

You may be searched, as we do carry out random bag searches. 

Security arches are also in operation at the venue.

7. Accessibility

Is Ashton Gate accessible for disabled visitors?

We work tirelessly to make our venue fully accessible to all our guests. This is a quick guide to some of our facilities – if you would like to know more, please contact us.

Can I hire mobility scooters and wheelchairs?

Unfortunately, we do not have mobility equipment available to hire.

Where are the lifts?

The main concourse is on the ground floor. Lifts to levels 2 & 3 are located in the VIP entrances while there is also a lift in the Independence Sports Bar.

Do you have hearing assistance available on-site?

Yes. Induction loop audio systems are fitted in various locations around the venue. 

Do you have disabled toilets and changing facilities?

Ashton Gate has accessible toilets adjacent to areas at the stadium occupied by wheelchair users. Each of the toilets is alarmed. Accessible toilets are located in the concourse under the Dolman, South and Lansdown Stands, in the Lansdown Stand Upper Tier concourse, in the Dolman & Heineken Lounges, the Press Area, the Lansdown Restaurant and Hospitality Box Level. There are two accessible toilets located in the Atyeo Stand for away supporters.

Can I bring my assistance animal?

Yes, assistance dogs are permitted on our premises.
