Celebration of Sport Week

Our Celebration of Sport Week returns for the 3rd consecutive year from the 18th to the 20th May 2020.

Celebration of Sport Week is a three-day festival of community sporting activity that brings together the four sporting charities based at Ashton Gate Stadium – Bristol Sport Foundation, Bristol City Robins Foundation, Bristol Bears Community Foundation and Bristol Flyers Community – with festivals, exhibitions and activities to celebrate the crucial role that sport plays in many of our lives.

The highly-anticipated week is a chance for the charities to invite participants from their community programmes and deliver training sessions and education workshops in the comfort of the 27,000-seat Ashton Gate Stadium arena whilst giving people the opportunity to play on the same hallowed turf that so many of their heroes have graced.

“We are delighted to open up Ashton Gate Stadium for community usage and give the people who access our programmes the chance to come together and celebrate the progress they have made,” said Bristol Sport Foundation’s chief community officer, Ben Breeze.

Following are some highlights from our last year’s event in which more than 2,000 children and adults from schools and communities across Greater Bristol flocked to Ashton Gate to celebrate their involvement in one of the programmes ran by our award-winning charities.
