Owsley played a key role in the final against a Netherlands side playing on home soil, scoring a late equaliser to take the game to penalties.

The England international also helped GB to qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Rio following a tough qualifying tournament in Valencia.

It was all the more remarkable considering the Bristol-born hockey player had recovered from a bout of viral meningitis earlier in the year.
