The visitors opened the scoring from Hannah Leigh after 11 mins, making the most of a numerical advantage after Clifton were reduced to 10 players for two minutes.

Both sides played some great passages and put on a real show. After the break Reading broke the Clifton defence with Hannah Leigh adding her second of the day. Clifton refused to let their heads drop and fought back with Jo Carter scoring from a great cross from Jess Bloom.

Clifton then pushed forwards but couldn’t find the crucial equaliser, the high play giving Reading the space to score a third by Liz Hunt.

It was another good match against a talented Reading side, defeat seeing Clifton sitting fifth in the table. The side will now look to recharge their batteries over the Christmas holidays and come back ready to go in January.
