Bowdon opened the scoring early on to give Clifton a scare but two goals from Els Mansell before half-time then a third from Claire Thomas on 45mins made the game comfortable.

Bowdon continued to fight, scoring a second with 5 minutes to go, ensuring a tense finish to the game.

Clifton held on with a great team performance against a very good and gritty Bowdon.

The win pushed the ladies side up to 4th in the league. Clifton will hope to hold on to this position heading into the Christmas break after a home game against Reading this Saturday, November 28th at Coombe Dingle (1pm).
