Kenya’s Morris Muene Gachaga (61 minutes 31 seconds) and Teresiah Omosa made it a clean sweep for the men and women’s titles with Sarah Piercy taking the wheelchair category.

Bristol & West AC runner Jenny Spink finished third just behind former GB international Michelle Ross-Cope.

The race started in fine conditions at 09:30 BST with two waves, and another wave at 10:00 BST.

More than 20,000 supporters lined the streets to lend their support to the elite, charity and fun runners taking part.

Many will have used the Bristol Half as preparation for the inaugural Bristol to Bath marathon which will take place next month.
