Going fastest in the practice session, the 22 year-old had high hopes heading into qualifying. A disappointing qualifying saw Zamparelli qualify in ninth and seventh for the weekend’s races.

The Bristol Sport racer managed to claim one position back in race one, finishing eighth at lunchtime on Sunday.

Falling back to tenth at the start of race two, a magnificent effort from the Bristolian saw him storm up the standings, culminating in a fantastic last corner pass to claim sixth in race two.

Zamparelli is currently fifth in the overall Porsche Carrera Cup standings.

Bristol Sport Racing’s Lando Norris was also in action this weekend at Croft, picking up a podium place in the MSA Formula Championship.

Elsewhere, Connor Hall returned to action in the Senior Rotax Super One Karting Series, claiming the win in Sunday’s final.
