Heading into the final weekend of the season in confident mood following his double-win at Silverstone, Zamparelli narrowly missed out on pole in qualifying ending up jut one tenth of a second back in third place.
The GT Marques driver raced well but was always going to struggle to make up the places he needed to win the rookie cup on a circuit with few opportunities for passing manoeuvres.
Zamparelii managed to set a fastest lap in race two as he maintained his grid position in both races, finishing in third in each.
The Bristol Sport racer’s rival for the rookie cup Tom Sharp was victorious in race two meaning Zamparelli had to settle for runner-up in the rookie cup.
Two wins and two podiums since switching teams however sees the Bristolian looking forward to a successful season in the Porsche Carrera Cup next year.
Zamparelli reflected on his first season in the Porsche Carrera Cup following the race:
“If someone had said I was going to pick up two wins, two fastest laps and a new lap record in the last four races I’d have thought they were crazy!
“I’m slightly disappointed we couldn’t show this form from the beginning, but it was a great end to the year.”
