With over 100 students in attendance, the event was used to inspire the scholars and reinforce what the Trust expects from them during their course completion.

The morning comprised of presentations from head of education Chris Stenner, acting director Dan White and members of the education team.

The event also saw year two students Aimee Canham and Xavier Barthelet announced as Bristol City Community Trust Head Scholar’s for the 2016/17 academic year due to their outstanding attitude, efforts and results throughout the first year of their course.

“The student update was a fantastic opportunity to see our cohort of students come together, all wearing their new Bristol City kit, excited for the academic year ahead,” said White.

“The students are a few days into their respective courses and the attitude, passion and drive displayed thus far has been impeccable, and I hope this continues.

“Student updates are a massive motivational tool as it gives staff and guest speakers the opportunity to highlight new opportunities available to the scholars and reward those who are deserving of it.

“The hard work properly starts now for students; both in an academic sense and practical element, but the commitment of our sports lecturers, the purpose-built facilities, and quality of delivery will assist in ensuring high levels of success are attained.”
