More than 150 keen athletes from Bristol took part in the event on Sunday.
Event organiser and former international triathlete, Akhil Viz, was delighted with how the event went, “there were smiles all around from the volunteers, participants and spectators. I couldn’t have hoped for more”
He added: “this was the first sprint triathlon in Bradley Stoke and so there were things we have learnt from this event that we will take on board to make the next one even better.”
Chief Executive of Circadian Trust, Mark Crutchley says, “The event is all about inspiring people to take up sport and events like this give people something to train for. I think it’s fantastic.”
Bristol Sport’s Group and Memberships Manager, Vicky Barlow added:”Some people think Bristol Sport is all about football, rugby and basketball but we are much more than that. We provided the T-shirts for all the volunteers and athletes at the race as supporting community events like this not only encourages people to watch sport but also take part.”
The fastest man to complete the 400 metre pool swim, 19km cycle and 5km run was Martin Reed and the fastest women was Michelle Kerfoot.
