The road to the final hasn’t been an easy one, with some tough fixtures along the way.
An opening victory over London Bees in the capital required extra time and a hat-trick from Gabby Bird.
This set up a Quarter Final showdown with Oxford, which again required extra time. Extra time wasn’t enough to settle the tie, penalties were required and Aimee Watson was the hero of the shoot-out, saving a number of penalties which resulted in City Women winning 4-3 in the shoot-out.
A monumental victory in the Semi Final was to follow, the Vixens faced Liverpool who hadn’t lost all season up to that point. Keeping up the tradition, the game required extra time and City Women ran out 4-2 winners.
Everyone at the club would like to wish Lauren and the Bristol City Women Development Team all the best in the final.
