10 bays have been installed at the Ashton Road end which is now listed as an official parking site for the iconic yellow bikes.
Last year YoBike chose Bristol as its European launchpad and now boasts 1000 bikes available to hire across the city for just £1 per hour, £5 per day or £39 for an annual membership. Fans simply need to download the YoBike app, locate a free bike and unlock it before parking it in an authorised parking location (available to view in the app) such as the newly installed ones at Ashton Gate.
David Mckinven, UK Operations Manager of YoBike said; “We know many fans are able to cycle to games but simply don’t have a bike to do so. YoBike allows them to get to and from the stadium without the cost of buying a bike or the hassle of maintaining it.”
Martin Griffiths, Chairman of Ashton Gate added; “We’re delighted to offer YoBike users the ability to park at Ashton Gate. Cycling to games and events at Ashton Gate is increasingly popular and we’re sure this will also prove popular for those using Greville Smyth Park or other local attractions.”
Ashton Gate already boasts 96 cycle parking spaces behind the South Stand with a free-to-use bike pump.
