The GT Marques driver was forced into ‘damage limitation’ mode after qualifying in seventh place on the grid in the latest round of the Porsche Carrera Cup.
The Bristolian driver said: “We had a really bad qualifying session and that put us on the back foot for the two races.
“We had to just try and claw back as many points as possible but Oulton is a very difficult circuit to overtake on as it has so many tight corners.”
Despite starting in seventh on the grid, Dino Zamparelli managed to battle up to fifth in the first race which meant he started in that position in the second race.
The 23-year-old then managed to clinch the third place podium position in the second race meaning he remains in second place on the leader board.
“It was frustrating to loose key points to the series leader. We had the pace in the races but couldn’t challenge him with our qualifying results”.
Zamparelli is back out for rounds seven and eight at Croft circuit on Saturday, June 18th and Sunday, June 19th where he will be looking to bounce back quickly.
“We are testing at Croft the week before the race which will give us a good chance to get to know the circuit. I am hoping to put this weeks qualifying mishaps behind me and get back to winning ways”.
